Longevity · Studios, gyms and wellness
Marketing for studios, gyms and wellness businesses
People choose a studio from the map, a friend's word, a class schedule and how the first visit feels. We help yoga and Pilates studios, gyms, martial arts schools and wellness clinics fill first visits and, more importantly, keep members coming back for years.
- Found on Google Maps and class apps
- First visits that become memberships
- Health claims you can stand behind
Short answer
Studio and gym marketing works when people within a short drive find you on Google Maps, see real classes and instructors, book a first visit easily, and get a reason to come back the next week. Medai Digital builds that for Houston studios, gyms and wellness businesses: Google profiles, class apps, pages for every class style, local partners, short video, and follow-up for new and lapsed members.

From a Houston yoga studio
What we did for Urban Fit Yoga
Urban Fit Yoga is a yoga studio in Rice Military, home of Stretch Yoga Therapy, led by Master Wayne Campbell. A site audit found technical errors, page titles did not tell Google what the studio offers and where, and there was no baseline to measure progress against. We started with the foundation and a written plan.
- Audit
- a full technical audit of the website, every error listed and prioritized
- Titles
- search titles and descriptions that say what the studio offers and where
- Baseline
- Houston yoga keyword research and a ranking snapshot to measure against
- Roadmap
- a step-by-step plan for search, Google profile and content
What makes it different
What makes marketing a studio or gym different?
January and summer swings
New Year's resolutions, summer travel and Houston heat move attendance more than any ad.
First visits that never return
Intro offers bring people in once. The real work is the second, fifth and tenth visit.
Class apps own the customer
ClassPass and similar apps fill classes but keep the relationship and take a share. Members you own are worth more.
Instructors are the brand
People follow teachers and coaches. When one leaves, the marketing should not leave with them.
Health claims need evidence
Claims about pain, weight, recovery or longevity need real evidence under FTC guidance, and clinics have patient privacy rules on top.
A short drive decides
Most members come from a few miles away, from Rice Military, the Heights or Montrose, so local presence beats broad reach.
What we do
What does a studio or gym need to fill classes and keep members?
Eight pieces, built around how people choose where to train. Pick one to see what it includes and what to watch out for.
Google Maps
Be the studio people find within a short drive
"Yoga near me", "gym in the Heights" and "kids jiu jitsu Houston" are map searches. A complete profile with real classes wins them.
- The right categories: yoga studio, Pilates studio, gym, martial arts school, physical therapy clinic
- Class schedule and a booking link right on the profile
- Photos and short videos of real classes, with members' permission
- Reviews requested after a member's first few visits, the same way for everyone
- Weekly posts: new classes, workshops, events and holiday hours
Within the rules
Reviews are never paid for, written for members or requested only from happy ones.
Class apps and directories
ClassPass, Mindbody, Yelp and the rest
Class apps and directories bring new people through the door. The question is how many become members you own.
- Complete profiles on the booking and class apps you use, matching your Google profile
- Booking that works from Google, your website and the apps
- How many app visitors become members measured, so you know which apps pay
- Yelp and neighborhood listings kept accurate
Website
A page for every class style and program
People search for the exact class they want: "hot yoga Houston", "reformer Pilates near me", "beginner yoga", "kids martial arts". One clear page for each wins those searches.
- Pages for each class style, level and program, written for beginners too
- Instructor pages with their training and certifications
- A clear first-visit page: what to bring, what to expect, where to park
- Schedule and booking one tap away on a phone
- Search titles and descriptions that say what you offer and where
What we did
For Urban Fit Yoga
We ran a full technical audit of the website with every error listed and prioritized, and rewrote search titles and descriptions for the homepage and key class pages, starting with beginner yoga in Houston.
The full project →Content and community
Answer the questions beginners are afraid to ask
Most people who never visit a studio are worried about being out of place. Content that answers their questions honestly brings them in.
- Beginner guides: "Is hot yoga safe for beginners?", "Am I too old to start jiu jitsu?"
- Member stories with written permission, showing typical experiences
- Workshops, challenges and events that give people a reason to come back
- Teaching from your instructors, in their own voice
What we did
For Urban Fit Yoga
We researched how Houston searches for yoga, with a ranking snapshot as the starting baseline, and wrote a step-by-step roadmap for search, Google profile and content built around what makes the studio different.
The full project →Within the rules
Health and results claims need evidence, and testimonials must reflect typical results or say they do not.
Local partners
Partners who send you people
Studios and gyms grow through the businesses around them: physical therapists, running clubs, cafes, offices and schools.
- Partner pages and links from neighborhood businesses and clubs you work with
- Corporate wellness classes for nearby offices
- Events and sponsorships in your neighborhood
- Never bought links or fake listings
What we did
For Urban Fit Yoga
We reviewed the sites that link to the studio to see which local links help and where new ones can come from.
The full project →AI visibility
Be the studio ChatGPT recommends
People now ask AI assistants which studio or gym to try. The answer names a few places it understands well.
- Questions people ask: "Best yoga studio for beginners in Houston?", "Where can my kids learn jiu jitsu near the Heights?"
- One consistent description of your classes, teachers and location everywhere
- Class and first-visit pages that answer those questions
- Reviews and local mentions that confirm what your site says
Members who stay
From first visit to years of practice
Longevity is the point: health built over years, and a business built on members who stay. Most of that is decided in the first month.
- A welcome sequence after the first visit, from the instructor who taught it
- Gentle check-ins when a new member misses a week
- Milestones celebrated: 10 classes, 50 classes, a first belt
- Win-back offers for lapsed members, and a simple referral program
Who we work with
Which studios, gyms and clinics do we market?
Each has its own members, seasons and rules. We write for the people you want to train.
Yoga and Pilates studios
Hot yoga, vinyasa, beginner yoga, yoga therapy, reformer and mat Pilates, teacher training
Beginners who feel out of place, instructors who are the brand, and class apps that fill rooms at a discount.
Gyms and fitness studios
Strength training, personal training, boutique classes, CrossFit style gyms
January spikes, memberships that lapse by March, and big chains with big budgets nearby.
Martial arts and combat sports
Brazilian jiu jitsu, boxing, Muay Thai, kids programs, belt ranks
Parents choosing for their children, safety questions, and progress that takes years.
Wellness and recovery clinics
Physical therapy, chiropractic, massage, recovery and longevity clinics
Health claims that need evidence, licensed providers to name correctly, and patient privacy rules for testimonials.
Claims and privacy
How do we keep your claims honest and your members' privacy safe?
Health and fitness marketing is easy to overstate. We build pages, posts and ads that you can stand behind.
Health claims with evidence
Claims about pain, weight, healing or aging need competent and reliable scientific evidence, as the FTC's health products guidance explains.
Typical results, honestly
Testimonials and transformations show typical experiences, or clearly say when results are not typical (FTC Endorsement Guides).
Permission for every photo
Members, and parents of children, agree before their photos or videos are used.
Patient privacy for clinics
Patient stories and photos only with written authorization, in line with HIPAA.
Real reviews only
No fake, bought or selectively requested reviews, in line with Google's policies and the FTC's 2024 rule.
Membership terms stated plainly
Prices, commitments and cancellation terms written the way the contract states them.
This is how we work, not legal or medical advice. Clinics should confirm claims and privacy practices with their own advisors.
When we say not yet
When should a studio or gym not spend more on marketing yet?
If first-timers rarely come back
Fix the first visit and the first month before buying more first visits.
If classes are already full
Add classes or instructors first. Marketing a full room only creates a waitlist.
If the schedule is hard to find
Make booking easy on Google, your site and phones before any ad.

Questions
Common questions from studios and gyms
How do yoga studios and gyms get more members?
Be easy to find on Google Maps, make the first visit easy to book and comfortable to attend, and follow up so new people come back in their first month. Local partners and short video bring people in; the first month keeps them.
Is ClassPass good for my studio?
It can fill empty spots and introduce new people, but those visitors are discounted and the app keeps the relationship. Measure how many become members before relying on it.
Should we list prices on our website?
Usually yes for intro offers and drop-ins, so people can decide quickly. State membership terms exactly as your contract does.
Can we say yoga or training helps with pain or aging?
Only with evidence that supports the specific claim. Describe what happens in class and what members experience, and avoid medical promises.
Do you work with wellness and recovery clinics?
Yes, with extra care for health claims, licensed providers and patient privacy.
Can you guarantee more members?
No. We promise the work and report first visits, new members and retention by source every month.
